For the Love of Nesting

I am having one of those weeks where I feel like I am meeting myself coming and going. And I am not ashamed to say " I miss home!". I am used to having a whole day to put on the music, light my favorite Tyler candle which just happens to be Limelight (it smells like a key lime pie and I highly recommend it) and clean, clean, clean, and it just isn't happening for me this week. It is a week full of birthdays(my son turns 15), picking up orders, getting ready for a consignment sale that I am participating in, cooking, dance classes for my daughter etc. I never thought I would miss a clean house so much ( I am a bit Obsessive Compulsive about having a clean and tidy environment). So here's to Nesting....I'm in the process of scheduling a date with Mr. Clean, Comet, and Windex for Friday, I hope they return my calls. Have wonderful and clean day!

Spa Day Anyone?

I watched a program last night on the E channel about how celebrities stay so beautiful...and that is a job in it's self. I laughed as I sat there and watched, seeing that it has been 18 years since I have had an uninterrupted bath. Bathtime is when my girls want to sit and "talk" (they are 9 and 18). I know that they must find this time to be the best to get me all to themselves. I know I will miss it someday so I roll with it. I think I must give the best advice when I'm semi relaxed after a long day. But a day at some wonderful spa with nothing but silence would be great every once in a while. Anyone up for a day at the spa?

Family Tray

I think this is my favorite tray so far. I love family heirlooms and this photo is one of my all time favorites(besides my daddy's baby picture which doesn't fit in this frame). My husband's grandmother gave me this photo of my father in law and I love the way he is pouting. I can imagine he threw quite the fit after this was shot. The crucifix is off my grandmother's casket. My dad gave it to me a couple of years ago. It hung above my bedroom door my entire childhood, but until I was grown I never new he took it off his mothers casket when he was just 15 years old. He and his mother were very close (she made him promise when he had a daughter that he would name her Paula Renee'-hence the old lady name) so when he gave it to me I was very honored. Have a wonderful day...create a family heirloom of your own! Paula

The Pony Express Rides On

My best friend Amy and I are convinced that the US Post Office has something out for us. I sent her Christmas gift in December....it arrived a month later re-boxed, with an "we're sorry your package was damaged in shipping" explanation. Ok we thought accidents do happen and what are the chances of the same thing happening again? WRONG! She sent me these cute finds and I waited, and waited, and waited. A month later they arrived banged up, taped up, and the package looks like it was put through "the ringer" so to speak. Not to mention it has been stamped with at least 3 different dates. So I am convinced that A. the post office has it out for one of us, or B. the horse that delivered it is past his prime and needs to be put out to pasture to enjoy some well deserved retirement. Let me know if any of you have had such strange happenings with your mail. Have a great day,

Trays for Days..........

A friend of mine asked "What are you supposed to do with trays?" The question was innocent enough, I mean she wasn't the first person to ask me this, so I responded(with a smile, as I rub my hands together in delight) "What am I NOT going to do with these trays !" Truthfully up until just a few months ago I may have asked the same question, then I attended the local Christmas home tour in my town (quite the affair I might add). And then my love affair with all things to do with trays and what to put on them, began. I actually have laid awake at night thinking of unique things to do with these lovely things(I'm odd I know). They just seem to say "Look at me!" Anything you put in a tray (and I've tried it all) just looks better. So I have decided to post my ideas in the hopes of sparking your interest in trays as well. They just look so how do I say it............lovely, interesting, eclectic, professional, polished and just plain unique. How better to present a vinette? I hope you enjoy. Paula

Oliver's Best Sellers!

Jesus bust...made by an Oklahoma artist the bust is a true piece of art made out of burlap measures approximately 18"tall by 13"wide(at the bottom) they are $130.00 plus shipping.

Candle pins are metal and measure 3"tall by 2"wide they are $10.00 each plus shipping and come in two styles (celtic cross and filagree)

Please leave a comment if interested!

A few of my favorite things...

I wanted to share my two favorite things that I sell in my store. The Jesus bust is created by a local artist and is actually made of burlap. They are breathtaking and so unique. If you can believe it these pictures don't do them justice. Then there is the whole "candle pin" concept that I fell in love with on a short vacation last year. I can't keep these in stock. They are made of metal and you heat them a bit then insert them in your favorite candle. They look beautiful alone or on a candlestick as shown here. Hope you enjoy your weekend. It is 70degrees here in Oklahoma so I am thanking God for the beautiful weather, unfortunately a cold front is headed our way for next week so I am off to enjoy it while it lasts. God Bless
